A Closer Look at the 2019 Audi A6

Audi is one of the leading brands when it comes to medium priced models as well as high-end cars. As different countries tighten motor vehicle rules in light of the desire to conserve the environment, we expect it to improve its designs continually. The 2019 Audi A6 has been revealed and its design has Ingolstadt’s mid-size uppercut, which we first saw with the 2019 Audi A8, as well as the 2019 Audi A7. The A6 combines several features to convey opulence and incorporate fuel saving features. In this article, we are going to take a deeper look at some of its outstanding features.

Engines and Powertrain

While there are two engines that Audi has chosen for use in the A6, it’s likely that the first one that will be used in the U.S is the 3.0-liter turbocharged. The engine is rated 340 horsepower and a torque of 369 pound-feet torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch will be used in the model that will be used in other models designed for Europe. However, it could be swapped with the 8-speed unit could be swapped and used in the A6 that will be exported overseas. When it comes to speed, the 2019 A6 will attain a speed of 62 mph within 5.1 seconds, however, that’s when a gas engine is used. While users in the Europe may have an option to use a turbodiesel engine, it will not make it to the US.

It’s expected that the A6, A7, and A8 that will be exported to the US will have a standard mild-hybrid powertrain. The mild-hybrid powertrain will have a lower fuel consumption in multiple ways, such as “sailing” at an optimum speed of 100 mph. It also includes a start and stop system that cuts idling when braking at speeds not exceeding 13 mph.

Steering and Frame

One of the unique features of this unit will be its All-wheel drive that will become as a standard unit. Furthermore, a sport differential will be available as an option in some models. It will also include a four-wheel steering capable of steering at an angle of 5 degrees at low speeds to increase its maneuverability. When being driven at high speeds, the rear wheel will steer in concert with the front wheels to increase its handling efficiency.

Then new A6 is built on a stiffer frame, made from a combination of aluminum and steel for increased strength and reduced weight. Moreover, Audi has designed the A6 to have variable steering ratio system. The system allows the car to be steered from a sharp 9.5:1 to a more relaxed 16.5:1, which allows you to enjoy a long drive without fear of over steering.
